Spooktober jam and prototyping

On September 1st I started the development of Travel the Darien Gap. In August I had watched a documentary about this infamous place. Watching it moved me and I started considering using the theme for my Spooktober's game jam solo entry. My first draft was written in Spanish and is rather different from what you are playing now.

My first intention was to make it in ren.py but being solo and inexperienced I found it a bit intimidating. Also, it's very picture oriented which isn't necessarily my stronghold. Then I remembered about twine from the time I was choosing an engine to make [Santos Mangos](https://influenciaindebida.itch.io/santosmangos)

I finished the first loop of Travel the Darien Gap the next day, and I got an Alpha running a few days later. I listed it as Prototype and had a few friends test it and give me some feedback which I then implemented.

I chose Harlowe as story format which I'm unsure to have been the best option. I could've spent the same effort learning SugarCube or Chapbook.

I won't get mad if you laugh at me when I confess I had a tough time uploading pictures and sound and still I haven't been able to make them look the way I'd like them to look. Once solved I had to get them to run online. Well, you are enjoying the result of such effort.

Before publishing the landing page I'll have to find a way to include the attribution due to the photographers and musician whose free licence art made it possible to have a more immersive experience. Regarding the real events taking place at the Darien Gap, I hope this piece of code may help people empathize with refugees and victims of forced migration.
